The hack: grab a coffee at Simple Kaffa on the 88th floor, and you will get the same stunning view, fewer crowds, way, way cheaper.

Here’s a step-by-step guide:

1. Head inside the Taipei 101 shopping mall and follow the signs to Simple Kaffa reception.
2. Let the receptionist know you’re getting takeaway coffee. They’ll take your order and give you a stub (note: there’s a minimum spend of 200 NTD per order).
3. Head up to the 2nd floor and take the lift to the 60th floor.
4. Transfer to another lift that’ll take you to the 88th floor, where Kaffa is.
5. Hand over your stub, and they’ll guide you to the designated photo spots.

Sure, the coffee’s on the pricier side—but still way cheaper than a Skydeck ticket, and you get the same view (plus coffee).
